DUI, Alcohol or Drug Use Risk Reduction is an
intervention program mandated by the state of Georgia for people convicted of
Driving Under the Influence (DUI), possession of illegal drugs, underage
possession of alcohol while operating a motor vehicle, or Boating Under the
Influence (DUI). The Georgia Department of Driver
Services has approved the Prime for Live Intervention Component as the accepted
Risk Reduction Component to be used by all state certified DUI/Risk Reduction
Schools.
Georgia's Risk Reduction program consists of two
components: the Assessment Component (NEEDS Assessment) and the
Intervention Component. Students must complete both the Assessment and
Intervention Components to receive a Certificate of Completion.Prior to enrolling in the 20-hour Risk
Reduction program, a participant must take the Assessment Component comprised of 130 questions
which center on the participants lifestyle. The Assessment may take
approximately 30-45 minutes to complete and the cost is $100.
After completing the Assessment, the
participant then qualifies to enroll in the 20-hour classroom course
called the DUI/Drug
Class or Risk Reduction Program. On the final day of the
20-hour course, students will receive a Certificate of Completion. The
reinstatement of the participant’s license hinges on the successful completion
of this program. The fee for the 20-hour course is $355. Additionally, there
is a required $20.00 course workbook fee.The total cost to enroll in the DUI/Drug 20-hour Risk Reduction Program is $355.00 (Assessment $100, 20-hour Risk Reduction Program $235 and $20.00 workbook). These fees are regulated and set by state law and are the same at all certified DUI/Drug Risk Reduction Schools.
